Violin & Viola - Elonia Varfi
Elonia is a graduate of the Academy of Arts in Tirana, Albania and received a Master of Fine Arts in Violin Performance from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music. She was a member of the Albanian Radio-Television Orchestra, the Minnesota Opera Orchestra, and was concertmaster of the Mankato Symphony in Minnesota. Currently, Elonia is a member of the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra, Georgia Symphony Orchestra, and performs regularly with the Atlanta Opera Orchestra.
She was a violin instructor at the Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota.
In Atlanta, Elonia has taught at the Lovett School, Georgia Academy of Music, Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School, and Atlanta International School.
Elonia is passionate about bringing the magic of music to her students, and helping them grow as musicians.
Cello & String Bass - Tara Suswal
Tara’s musical life began at the age of four when she begged for piano lessons. By age twelve, she had discovered the ‘cello and went on to participate in Honor and All State Orchestras through the public school music program. She began teaching instrumental music while an undergraduate at Kennesaw State and quickly found that she had a love for helping students find joy in music.
Tara has been active as a performer in the Atlanta area since 2000 and enjoys a wide variety of musical genres.
Objective: My aim is to assist students in building proficiency on their chosen instrument while also encouraging their spark of musical passion to grow into a lasting flame of involvement in the arts.
Education: Bachelors of Music in ‘Cello Performance, Kennesaw State University, 2005.
Master of Arts in Teaching, Kennesaw State University, 2010. Teachers include Mary Kenney, Nancy Maddox, and Brad Ritchie.
