Ravan I. Durr ~ Chamber music, jazz, co-founder
Baritone Saxophonist Ravan I. Durr was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1976 and went on to earn a Bechelor of Science in Music Education degree from Jacksonville State University and the Master of Music degree from the University of Georgia. Mr. Durr has extensive performance experience in both jazz and chamber music. He is retired from the Cobb County School System after 24 years of service as a band director for middle and high school. He has produced and performed on four CD projects under his own name. Ravan and his wife Sheila have four grown children and reside in Marietta, Georgia.
Emma Haley ~ Chamber music, ensemble, Guest Artist
Emma Haley has lived with the sound of the saxophone her entire life. She pursued her passion for the saxophone and for the teaching of music at Florida State University, graduating with a degree in music education. She is well-versed in all performance aspects of the saxophone and specializes on the alto and soprano saxophones. Emma is in her fifth year as a middle school band director, teaching now in Tallahassee, Florida.
Martin Wilkes ~ Chamber music, Guest Artist
Martin Wilkes is a saxophonist, teacher, artist-technician and retired military musician living in Tallahassee, Florida. Martin is an accomplished saxophonist, performing with the top US Army Band “Pershing’s Own” for over twenty years. Today, Mr. Wilkes concentrates on teaching the next generation of saxophonists, placing many students in the Florida All-State and District bands. He holds music Bachelors and Masters in Music Theory from Florida State University, and a Masters in Saxophone Performance degree from George Mason University.
